Investigative journalist Afgan Mukhtarli has been released from Prison 16 in Azerbaijan after three years of arbitrary detention. His release comes after a court pronounced him free on Tuesday afternoon. On 12 January 2018, Mukhtarli was sentenced to six years in prison by the Belakani District Court of Azerbaijan.
