The Only Material is coming to Leipzig

Last year, The Only Material brought the stories of Ukrainian journalists to Berlin. This October, the exhibition continues its journey, this time to Leipzig. On 22 October, we will open The Only Material at the Deutsches Buch- und Schriftmuseum, once again bringing together personal stories of journalists whose lives, work and ambitions have been reshaped by war. It is organised by the ECPMF in partnership with the German Museum of Books and Writing and the organisation Headliner gUG.

The Only Material is implemented under the SAFE project, which is part of the Hannah Arendt Initiative and supported by the German Federal Foreign Office. Last year we hosted the exhibition in Berlin. This year it is hosted in Leipzig.

 

This years’ speakers:

 

Victoria Yermolaieva is editor-in-chief at Hromadske Radio, a trusted and recognised news source certified by the Journalism Trust Initiative (JTI). Originally from Kerch, Crimea, she was forced to flee due to constant threats and relocated to Kyiv.

 

Serhii Korovayny is an editorial and portrait photographer whose work has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, National Geographic, and Der Spiegel. A Fulbright Scholar and university instructor in Kyiv, his debut photobook, Love Letter to Donbas, was published in 2026 in collaboration with Fotoevidence.

 

And last but not least: Diana Delyurman is an independent war correspondent and photographer covering frontline stories, who also serves as Global Communications Manager for the Lviv Media Forum.
