Europske organizacije protiv SLAPP-a

Jednog vrućeg proljetnog poslijepodneva na Malti, novinarka se dovezla do svoje kuće kako bi pronašla sudskog maršala kako objepljuje duck-tapeom stotine listova papira na njezina ulazna vrata. Iako ometan s dva obiteljska psa čuvara koji su nekontrolirano lajali i nasrtali prema maršalu kroz rešetke vrata, bio je odlučan. Sud je naredio da novinarki Daphne Caruana Galizia, mora biti dostavljeno 19 tužbi za klevetu, koje su sve odjednom protiv nje pokrenute od strane bogate i moćne poslovna figure. Nekoliko mjeseci kasnije bila je mrtva, ubijena daljinski aktiviranom automobilskom bombom.

France: concerns about new draft law that would make it illegal to publish images of police and gendarmes at work

The European Centre for Press and Media Freedom (ECPMF) and European Federation of Journalists (EFJ), as part of the Media Freedom Rapid Response (MFRR), with French unions SNJ, SNJ-CGT, CFDT-Journalistes, are concerned about a legislative proposal currently pending in the French parliament, which would make it illegal to disseminate images of law enforcement officers of the national police and gendarmerie. We call on the members of Parliament to delete the proposed text.
