Save the Date: RE:Cover Campus and RE:Cover Conference 2023

Today we have the pleasure to announce the dates for two upcoming events as part of the Voices of Ukraine project, both taking place in November 2023 in Krakow, Poland!

RE:Cover Campus 2023 – Voices Amplified

“Uniting Ukrainian Journalists for Impact”

First, the RE:Cover Campus, our upcoming training and networking event for Ukrainian journalists, will take place on 22 and 23 November 2023. As well as offering a chance for journalists from Ukraine to network, share ideas, and learn from one another, RE:Cover Campus will also play host to a range of workshops and training sessions. Topics covered will include journalists’ mental wellbeing, working with traumatised people, war reporting, and the specific challenges faced by women journalists. The Campus will also offer a unique opportunity for journalism mentors to get together and share tips and best practices for helping budding journalists break into the scene. Simultaneous and consecutive Ukrainian and English interpretation will be available during the sessions.

RE:Cover Conference 2023

Following the Campus event, we will then host the RE:Cover Conference on 25 and 26 November. Focusing on the impact of the Russian invasion on the Ukrainian media landscape – including war reporting, documenting war crimes, physical and psychological safety, and much more – the conference will bring together journalists and media experts to engage in dialogue on how Russia’s war against Ukraine changes journalism.

While the events are geared specifically towards the work of Ukrainian journalists, the invitation is open to any conflict journalists with an interest in the war in Ukraine. Information about registration will be available in the coming weeks. For now, we ask prospective participants from Ukraine not to book accommodation in advance as hotel rooms have already been secured by the organisers and will be provided free of charge. Ukrainian participants’ travel to and from the events will also be reimbursed as part of the Voices of Ukraine project. Interested individuals from other countries without means to participate may also have their accommodation and travel costs covered, however this will be decided on a case-by-case basis. These individuals are invited to reach out to us directly to present their case.

RE:Cover Campus 2023 –

RE:Cover Campus and RE:Cover Conference 2023 are organised by the European Centre for Press and Media Freedom (ECPMF) together with partners RE:Cover Denmark, RPDI, and the Lviv Media Forum, as part of our Voices of Ukraine project.
