“When I came to Leipzig for the JIR Programme, Turkey was already a difficult place for many people and communities, especially for journalists. Now, as I leave Leipzig and return home, I see that things in my country have become even more difficult.

But there is one thing I know for certain: I have changed, too.

This programme, this city, and the inspiring people I have met here have given me new strength and entirely new perspectives. I am returning home with renewed energy and a deeper sense of purpose, ready to continue doing the profession I love so passionately.

ECPMF has designed this programme with such care that it is almost impossible for a journalist to leave without being changed in some way. At times, I even felt that they knew us better than we knew ourselves. The incredible solidarity, warmth, and thoughtfulness of the ECPMF team are difficult to put into words.

I leave Leipzig with so much gratitude — for what I have learned, for the people I have met, and for the way this experience has touched my life.

Thank you for touching my life in such a beautiful and profound way.”
