ECPMF is hiring an IJ4EU Programme Manager (event and award).  You will organise the international UNCOVERED conference as well as the prize giving ceremony for the impact award, as part of the IJ4EU project.

In this position, you will need to be a self-starter and a team player, as you will work in close collaboration with the project partners and communication teams.

The position is vacant from 1 January 2022 and is funded until 10 May 2022. The contract may subsequently be extended: a proposal for an 18-month follow-up project has been submitted and is currently under review by the donor.

The job entails:

  • Implementing the “Impact Award”, including by enabling the work of the Award Jury
  • Planning the content and logistics of the UNCOVERED conference of the European cross-border investigative journalism project in April 2022, working in consultation with project partners
  • Creating the conference programme and choosing the speakers and topics
  • Liaising with prize winners, speakers and representatives of partner organisations
  • Writing texts about the events and managing the invitations
  • As part of ECPMF’s activities the production of a podcast needs to be implemented

What we expect from you:

  • Degree or diploma in event or project management or equivalent educational programme
  • Professional experience in organising events and public relations initiatives, ideally in Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs)
  • Well-informed interest in media, politics and the role of media in society
  • Own budget responsibility in the context of project implementation
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and planning software
  • Excellent knowledge of German and English, additional languages are welcome
  • Professional appearance, reliability, willingness to take on responsibilities and excellent communications skills
  • Social-media and Podcast skills are welcome

You can expect from us:

  • You’ll be working in a team with a collegial atmosphere and clear communications
  • Your salary will be based on TVL-8 (2000 EUR = 70% of a fulltime position)
  • Working in Leipzig and partly in home-office in Germany
